Troops deal Boko Haram terrorists fatal blow, rescue 150
– Boko Haram weapons seized by Nigerian army – Troops launches new mining equipment in war against the insurgents
– Army spokesperson says morale is sky-high after recent success
Nigeria’s military forces have recorded a major victory against Boko Haram sect in its war against terrorism after further decapitating the fighters in a recent raid.
According to information made available to Naij.com, about 20 of the terrorists were killed during the raid as the Nigerian troops advanced in its Lafiya Dole operation in the country’s northeast.
Colonel Kukasheka Usman, the spokesperson of the Nigerian army noted that this recent victory is in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s directive for troops to maintain the momentum.
He stated that“today (Tuesday), troops of 7 Division have carried out major operations against the Boko Haram terrorists locations in Talala and Kumshe axis.
“The joint operation which was carried out with Cameroonian forces was quite successful as a number of the terrorists were killed, some of their weapons and equipment either destroyed or captured.
“The joint operation between elements of 7 Division and the Cameroonian forces along Banki-Kumshe axis, led to the killing of 20 Boko Haram terrorists, destruction of 4 AK 47 rifles and capture of a gun truck mounted with an Anti-Aircraft Gun (AA Gun) and 2 AK 47 rifles, as well as a 60mm mortar and a Dane gun.”
While expressing regrets over the injury sustained by three soldiers and a damaged vehicle caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), Colonel Usman noted that, “troops also encountered about 10 other IEDs along the route of advance which were cleared. Most of the terrorists ran in disarray towards Fatake where troops on blocking position cleared them.
“Along the Talala axis despite an IED in which 1 soldier was wounded and a damaged vehicle, the operation is progressing very well. More so as the Nigerian Air Force has been assisting with interdiction and surveillance.”
During the raid, troops at Kodo rescued 150 persons who were mainly children also, a house with Boko Haram terrorists’ flag at Fatake caught fire with several ammunitions explosions in which three Boko Haram terrorists were killed in the house.
The army spokesperson also eulogised the equipment used in taking out some of the terrorists high-tech ammunition against the soldiers, Colonel Usman hailed the 5 Brigade and 7 Multinational Joint Task Force (MJTF), saying they were“doing very well in their respective area of operations. This is made possible by the steady supply of needed logistics into the various formations and units fighting the Boko Haram terrorists.
“The Army also launched new mine clearing equipment, weapons and their ammunitions. It is noteworthy, apart from being the first mine clearing machines in the inventory of the Nigerian Army, it is one of the best in the world.”
And in his usual manner, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai, the (Chief of Army Staff (COAS) has personally commended the troops for their impressive performance thus far.
“He made the commendation shortly after a briefing by the Deputy Theatre Commander and also the Land Component Commander, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Major General LEO Irabor and the General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Brigadier General VO Ezugwu at the Theatre Command, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Maiduguri.
“The Chief of Army Staff was in Maiduguri on official visit to formations and units in the North East. He was accompanied by the Chief of Training and Operations, Major General YM Abubakar and other senior officers from the Army Headquarters,”Usman noted, adding that the soldiers remained in high spirits after this latest success.

Syria conflict: IS claims deadly Homs and Damascus blasts
Image copyrightAPImage caption Photo released by Syrian state media shows an injured victim of the blasts in Sayyida Zeinab
The Islamic State group says it carried out bomb attacks in the Syrian capital Damascus and the city of Homs, which left at least 140 people dead.
Four blasts in the southern Damascus suburb of Sayyida Zeinab killed at least 83 people, state media say.
Earlier in Homs, 57 people, mainly civilians, were killed in a double car bombing, a monitoring group reports.
Both of Sunday's attacks targeted areas dominated by Islamic minorities reviled by the Sunni Muslim radicals of IS.
The blasts came as President Bashar al-Assad told reporters Syrian refugees should not be scared of returning home.
Mr Assad, who has long been accused of persecuting his own people, said ordinary Syrians who had fled the conflict due to the "standard of living that has been deteriorating drastically" could go back without fear of action by the government.
"We want people to come back to Syria," he told reporters.
More than 250,000 Syrians have been killed in the conflict. Some 11 million others have been forced from their homes, of whom four million have fled abroad - including growing numbers who are making the dangerous journey to Europe. Media captionThe BBC's Alan Johnston: "Homs is a city that's seen much violence... even by its standards, it was a huge attack"
Earlier, US Secretary of State John Kerry said a "provisional agreement" had been reached with Russia on a partial truce.
However he admitted issues remained to be resolved and said he did not expect any immediate change on the ground.
Earlier this month, world powers involved in the crisis in Syria agreed to seek a "cessation of hostilities", but the Friday deadline came and went.

In Damascus on Sunday, the state-run Sana news agency reported least 83 dead and 178 wounded in several explosions in Sayyida Zeinab. It is the location of Syria's holiest Shia Muslim shrine, said to contain the grave of the Prophet Muhammad's granddaughter.
The Amaq news agency, which is linked to IS, said IS militants had detonated a car bomb and then blown up explosive belts.
Muhannad, a local resident, told Reuters news agency he was sleeping in his home when he heard an explosion.
"A man detonated the bomb on his body," he said.
"Another five to seven minutes later, a second man detonated his body bomb there. I was right here looking at him."

Business and Economy Naira strengthens, trades N360-367 on the black market 1 day ago
– The naira has strengthened against the US dollar
– The currency gained N360 against the American dollar
The Naira has finally strengthened against the US dollar.
Nigeria’s naira has finally strengthened against the US dollar after weeks of free fall on the parallel market.
On Friday, February 19, the currency gained N360 against the American dollar which means that the pressure on the national currency has eased. However, some unofficial traders sell it at N370 per dollar and buy at N367.
Reuters reports that Nigeria’s overnight interbank lending rate dropped to an average of 1% on Friday from around 4.5% on Thursday as the market anticipated refunds of cash deposited by commercial lenders for foreign exchange purchases.
According to traders, liquidity dropped sharply and the cost of borrowing climbed after commercial lenders moved cash to their naira accounts with the central bank to enable them to take part in the weekly forex intervention on Thursday. On Tuesday, February 16, banks deposited about 700 billion naira to back their planned forex purchases, draining liquidity in the banking system and pushing the lending rate above 4%.
“The cost of funds dropped today (Friday) based on expectation that the central bank will refund a portion of cash deposited for forex intervention before the close of business,”one dealer said.
Once a week, the central bank usually intervenes in the official interbank foreign exchange market to provide dollars for eligible importers. It requires commercial lenders to fund its naira account 48 hours ahead of the intervention.
Traders said that they were expecting around 450 billion-500 billion naira in refunds from the central bank, raising the level of cash credits in favour of commercial lenders and helping to hold down interbank lending.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has rejected calls to devalue the currency of Nigeria

A 36-year-old Michigan woman, Anita Sullivan Jones, has set a new world record by giving birth to her 14th child from her 14th husband.
The woman at the hospital
Infamous Tribune reports that Ms Jones has been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records after giving birth at the Harper University Hospital on Tuesday, February 16. She is sad to be the first woman in the world to have children by more than thirteen different men.
“I’m extremely proud to have broken a World Record,”Ms. Jones told reporters.“My mother always told me that I was lazy and worthless, and that I would never accomplish anything in my life. Now, I’ve shown everyone that she was wrong, and that I can even be the best in the world when I put my mind to something. In fact, I’ve just accomplished something that no one had done before!”
Anita Jones says she’s been unlucky with relationships in the past, but she believes that this time she may have found the man of her life.
“I’m good at having babies, but I’m really awful when it comes to picking the fathers of my children. This time, however, I think I’ve learned from my past mistakes. Ramón isn’t like all the jerks I’ve dated before. We’ve been together for almost a year and a half, and I really believe it could work between us.”
Jones’ thirteen other children looked really happy to meet their new sibling at the hospital. They were also said to be filled with joy for their mother, who against all odds had broken a Guinness World Record, and posed happily for the 2017 edition of the book.
The other 13 children at the hospital
After their meeting with Ms. Jones, the representatives of Guinness opened a second investigation concerning the record for the number of child support pensions received by one person. The Detroit native is already the beneficiary of pensions paid by 11 different men, and is involved in two other custody cases, which should proceed before the family court over the next two months.
The investigation should be over by the month of March 2016, and Guinness will then be able to tell if Ms. Jones holds a second World Record or not.
Errr, can they tie the tube of the woman already? What the heck??

Android Mazar malware that can 'wipe phones' spread via SMS
A Danish security company has detected an attempt to spread a powerful form of Android malware via text messages.
Mazar can gain administrator rights on phones, allowing it to wipe handsets, make calls or read texts.
However, it will not install on phones where the language is set to Russian.
Additionally, users would have to have unchecked a default setting on Android devices that ensures software may only be installed from trusted sources.
Security firm Heimdal thinks the malicious texts could have been sent to over 100,000 phones in Denmark, though it is not sure whether users in other countries may have received the messages.
This is believed to be the first time Mazar has been detected in widespread, real world attacks.
In the examples studied by Heimdal, users receive an innocuous-looking text providing a link to what looks like a multimedia message.
This link downloads Tor software, which enables anonymous internet connections, to the phone.
Afterwards, the malware itself is downloaded through Tor in an apparent effort to hide the source of the malicious software itself.
Russian refusal
One interesting feature of Mazar is that it cannot be installed on smartphones running Android with "Russian" selected as the operating system's language.
Similar controls have been detected in PC malware in the past, according to Morten Kjaersgaard, chief executive of Heimdal.
Infected phones are at risk from a range of threats - from attackers secretly monitoring devices to reading a user's texts or even erasing all personal data from the handset.
Or, the attacker could simply send a lot of texts to premium numbers.
"It can do a lot of damage - maybe running up a big phone bill for which the customer would be liable," Mr Kjaersgaard told the BBC.
"It's not like when you use your credit card and there's an international standard for banks covering [fraud]."
Advice to users
Heimdal tested phones running Android Kitkat (version 4.4) but Mr Kjaersgaard believes the issue is likely to affect all prior versions as well.
Later versions of the operating system have not been tested.
The advice to users is to never tap on web links in text messages from unfamiliar phone numbers and to be cautious of links even if the message appears to be from a known contact since sometimes this can be spoofed.
"Over one billion devices are protected with Google Play which conducts 200 million security scans of devices per day," a Google spokeswoman said.
"Fewer than 1% of Android devices had a Potentially Harmful App installed in 2014, and fewer than 0.15% of devices that only install from Google Play had a Potentially Harmful App installed," she added.

How ISIS recruits children, then kills them
Eleven-year-old Abu Imara al Omri kneels down to kiss his father's hand; a final blessing before the boy blows himself up in a truck full of explosives.
The disturbing goodbye was captured in a series of ISIS propaganda photos last month.
Supporters of the terror group claim the boy was used to help take the village of Ghazl near Aleppo, Syria.
But Omri is not alone. The use of child soldiers far predates ISIS, but what concerns researchers and policymakers is that ISIS' use of boys and girls does not follow the trends of previous conflicts.
ISIS does not use those under 18 because they provide specific technical advantage in combat or because they are short of fighters. Child soldiers are seemingly treated no differently than adult soldiers, according to a new study published Friday in the CTC Sentinel.
What this means in the self-proclaimed Islamic Caliphate is there simply is no sanctity accorded to childhood.
That soldier could be a just a child
Researchers say that sad fact could not only have implications on the battlefield, as the chance for military encounters between coalition-backed forces and ISIS child fighters increases.
The findings also show that eliminating ISIS will be much more complicated than killing its leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, or disarming his fighters. There's the question of what to do about potentially thousands of indoctrinated children left behind.

A new video has just been released in which Pope Francis very clearly expresses his belief that all of the major religions are different paths to the same God.
He says that while people from various global faiths may be “seeking God or meeting God in different ways” that it is important to keep in mind that “we are all children of God”. This is the most recent example that shows that the Pope has completely abandoned any notion that a relationship with God is available only through Jesus Christ. As he has done throughout his papacy, he continues to lay the groundwork for the coming one world religion, and yet hardly anyone seems upset by this.
Obama imposes new sanctions on North Korea
President Barack Obama signed new sanctions on North Korea into law Thursday, punishing the regime for its nuclear and missile tests as well as for suspected cyber-hacking incidents.
Congress overwhelmingly passed the measure earlier this month. The two Republican senators running for president, Ted Cruz of Texas and Marco Rubio of Florida, both returned to Washington to vote in favor of the bill.
The measure is meant to compel American allies to enact similarly tough restrictions on North Korea to further isolate the country, which conducted its fourth nuclear test in January and recently launched a satellite into space.
Tough new multilateral sanctions have been held up at the United Nations Security Council over disagreements between China and other nations. China, a longtime sponsor of North Korea, has expressed concerns about measures that it worries could debilitate North Korea's economy.
Again on Friday, China made its objections clear.
"As the situation on the Korean peninsula remains complex and sensitive, all relevant parties should keep calm and restrained, and refrain from doing anything that could escalate tensions," said Hong Kei, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "We think it is impossible to resolve any hotspot issues through simple sanctions or pressuring."
But South Korea welcomed the American sanctions, with its Ministry of Foreign Affairs saying the new law "shows the strong determination of the U.S. to respond firmly to North Korea's nuclear test and long-range missile launch."
The unilateral U.S. sanctions Obama approved Thursday would freeze the assets of anyone doing business related to North Korea's nuclear or weapons programs or is involved in human rights abuses in the country.

15 Ways To Please Your Husband/Boyfriend
Romans 15:2-3 tells us, “Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to his edification. For even Christ did not please Himself . . .” Who is your closest neighbor?
Your husband. How can you edify (build, improve) your mate and thereby enhance his self-worth? By discoveringand doing what pleases him.
If you are creative, pleasing your mate may be a natural part of your personality. But a less creative person may need some coaching in becoming a partner pleaser. And all of us need an occasional cue card to remind us to reach out. Here are a few ideas:
1. Write him a letter and send it to his office, or put a love note in his lunchbox or briefcase.
2. Prepare his favorite meal.
3. Arrange an evening out for just the two of you.
4. Wear his favorite dress with your hair done the way he likes it.
5. Purchase something small and frivolous for him that he won’t buy himself.
6. Give him a nicely framed picture of yourself, or of you and the children, for his office.
7. Surprise him with an all-expense-paid trip to do something he likes, such as golf, fishing, or hunting trip.
8. Put the children to bed early and prepare a candlelight dinner.
9. Do something that especially pleased him when you were dating.
10. Read Scriptures and pray with him regularly.
11. Take walks together.
12. Keep your junk out of the garage.
13. Greet your husband warmly after work.
14. Wear his favorite negligee or buy a new nightgown to add sizzle to your evening attire.
15. Clean out the car for him.
Sometimes the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference in your marriage.
Pick out something you haven’t tried before; don’t give complacency a foothold in your marriage relationship.

9 Ways Ladies Behave When They Are No Longer Virgins
1. They Are Quick To Anger When Asked if They Are Virgins
You heard me right.. My research and findings have shown that non virgin ladies tend to be very uncomfortable and are very quick to anger if you inquire about their sexual lives. The virgin ladies on the other hand will just smile and keep quiet when asked; but to the non virgin ladies, they will flare up and will embarrass you. You will hear something like, is it your business if I’m a virgin or not?
2. They Become Moody
Don’t get me wrong because I’m not trying to say that every lady who suddenly becomes moody has lost her virginity, but all I’m trying to say is that, when a lady just recently lost it, she becomes incessantly quiet for a few days. She may lock herself up in her room probably because she has something up her sleeves
3. They Pick Quarrel At The Mention Of The Word “Virginity”
You heard me right. I have noticed that many non virgin ladies tend to be very uncomfortable when you place so much emphasis on virginity. However, it’s either they verbally attack you, or they tell you that you are still very immature and really need some maturing to do
4. She Becomes Outspoken On Sex Discussion
Many virgin ladies are somewhat quiet when people discuss sex (though not in all cases). She used to be very timid before when she was still a virgin, but when she’s no longer one, she may not be shy to take part and expressly air her views when s*x topics arise
5. They Hover Around Lecturers’ Offices
I’m a living witness of this. As a student, I have seen female students hovering at lecturers’ offices even when they have been told that people avoid the lecturers because they are known for sleeping with students. These ladies will still be bent on mingling with these so called lectures. They are like, “I often go to his office greet him and nothing more”. *if I hear*
6. They Live a Life Of “I live my life the way I want”
Yes it’s true that we should never judge a book by its cover, but it’s paramount to also know that the world is fast evolving into the one in which one’s appearance is the first letter of recommendation. However, many virgin ladies always try to maintain their natural look and worry less about perishable parameter they callmake-ups; but the non virgin ladies on the other hand may spend eternity in the cosmetics shops painting their faces just as we used to paint apples and coconuts on our drawing book when in we were in KG classes. They wear waist chain and will flash it when on okada; they pierce their noses, they wear anklets, they bleach, and will keep saying they live their lives the way they want. It’s almost impossible seeing a virgin lady indulge in the aforementioned acts
7. They Mostly Scam Guys
Yes many virgin ladies are usually very proud and tend to hold themselves in dignity. A guy will have to pester her on a date before she finally agrees; but non virgin ladies on the other hand will scam guys and see nothing bad in it. They may even bring gangs of friends on a date even without informing you. This is a bid to make their friends have a taste of your money
8. They Upload Boobs/Buttocks Revealing DPs
In my personal belief, I have come to conclusion that the chances of ladies who are bold enough to upload boobs and buttocks reveal pictures on social networks, there chances of being a virgin is likened to Ayo Fasoye’s chances of winning a presidential election in Nigeria. However, the non virgin ladies on the other hand may not be bold enough to do this
9. They Will Rain Curses On Me
This will definitely happen. For a write-up like this, they will storm on this thread, throwing punches and raining curses on me. They will tag me a misogynist and will try to justify their acts by saying things that will suit them

A couple returns from their honeymoon refusing to speak to each other. The groom’s best friend takes him aside and asks what’s wrong.
“Well,” replies the man, “when we finished making love on the first night, I put a $50 bill on the pillow without thinking.”
“Oh, you shouldn’t worry about that too much,” says his friend. “I’m sure your wife will get over it soon enough.
She can’t expect you to have been saving yourself all these years.” “That’s not the problem, ” the groom says. “She gave me $20 change!”

The lawyer replied, “Of course, how much was the meat bone?”

Funny Joke: Touch and follow
I fell in love with a girl called Amanda, but don’t have the guts to ask her out. So I went to see a native doctor popularly called “Baba”.
All he demanded from me was 1-month internet data subscription money which I paid and he gave me a ring called ‘Touch and Follow’.
He said, “All I need to do is touch her with this ring and she will follow.” I was excited because that was pretty easy.
The next day, when she was passing, I created a scene just to draw her attention and touched her like it was a mistake. I was expecting her to follow me, but she didn’t, rather she moved on and was pressing her phone.
I was disappointed and went home. On getting home, I checked my phone and saw 9 notifications showing Amanda Paul is now following me on Twitter, Instagram, Keek, Badoo, Viber, sent me a friend request on Facebook, sent me a message on Whatsapp and 2go.
I called Baba immediately to inform him and he replied me, “My son, we’ve upgraded, everything is now digital! Bye to rural village, welcome to the global village. That was why I did not ask for a cock, the brain of a mosquito, a vulture’s eye and groundnut oil but one month internet data to keep me online.”

Why I want to do collabo with KCEE – Dan Lu
By Damiete Braide
South African based Nigerian producer, Christopher Tochukwu aka Sisquo recently brought one of his artistes, Dan Lufani aka Dan Lu to Nigeria to collaborate with Nigerian musicians.
Dan Lu is from Malawi but based in South Africa and is one of the best male Hip-hop artiste making waves and will collaborate with Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo aka KCee.
Chief Executive Officer of Sisquo Production, Tochukwu from Mbaise in Imo State said that Nigeria is the hub of entertainment in Africa and they are here to tap from her experience and presently we have signed a deal with Five Star Music for the collaboration.
“ I am into music and film production and I have artistes from Africa under my label. We have state-of-the-art studio where artistes come and record their music and we have built high standards. We are here in Nigeria to replicate such standards.”
“ I have been in South Africa for 17 years now and I have two artistes signed before Dan Lu. I discovered that he is talented and worked him for some time before I signed him under my label. I know that it will be a big task to do collaborations with Nigerian artistes and I decided to start with him first.|”
Continuing he said, I have Nigerian artistes based in South Africa under my label. They are Christopher Ogbulu (aka Chris Fly) and Friday Hutchman Joe and are currently making waves in South Africa.
I have brought Nollywood artistes to South Africa and shot a movie entitled Whiplash, and I hope to bring the series to Nigeria Nigerians to enjoy and watch. Talking about Piracy, he said: I left Nigeria because of piracy and I was told that before I could sell my music, I have to pay pirates for them to market my music and I told them that I can’t do it and I had to leave Nigeria for South Africa. Piracy in South Africa is not as high like what we have in Nigeria.
So far, we have other artistes that we will like to collaborate with and when the right time comes, we will unveil them. Right now, we are focusing on KCEE and things will work out fine.
While Dan Lu observed that I am so happy to be in Nigeria and her artistes are the best in Africa and we give them that respect.
“ I am here to do a collaboration with KCEE and am very happy because it is going to change my life and my record label. We chose KCEE first from other Nigerian musicians because he is currently making waves in Africa and the world because he is the right man for us for now.”
The music industry is big and it is not easy but with the grace of God, I know that things will work out fine because I believe in God. Despite the challenges, I thank God that we are in Nigeria and we have signed a deal with Five Star Music.
Talking about his kind of music, Dan lu said: My music is Afro Pop infused with traditional songs. Music in Malawi is growing and with the coming of Nigerian artistes in Malawi, things are going on well.
There are talented Malawian artistes and I believe that they will take Africa by storm. I have four albums to my credit and have shot the music videos as well.
I am bringing my style to collaborate with KCEE and we will work together to the change the lives of Nigerians. Although, it is going to be a love song but it is rich in contents.
“ I have been with Sisquo Productions for two years now and I know what the record label is doing great and our relationship is cordial. I am a transparent individual and they have shown that they are responsible, and that is why, I was able to sign a deal with them.
In Malawi, we have the culture of respecting ourselves and before we release a song, we ensure that the messages will change the lives of people.

Mosquitoes carrying Zika virus exist in Nigeria —Health Minister
—THE Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, has said that the mosquitoes carrying Zika virus are in Nigeria and urged Nigerians to protect themselves by using mosquito nets.
He also called on Nigerians to remain calm, be vigilant and report any suspected case of an acute febrile illness in pregnant women, in particular, to any nearest health facility.
Adewole made this disclosure at a press briefing, yesterday, in Abuja, where he explained that the mosquitoes were active and flying, adding that they bite during the day and early morning.
He said: “Nigerian scientists working in Western Nigeria in 1954 discovered Zika virus in Nigeria. Further studies in the years 1975 to 1979 showed that 40 per cent of Nigeria adults and 25 per cent of Nigerian children have antibodies to Zika virus, meaning they are protected against this virus.
“Despite the fact that some Nigerians are immune to the Zika virus infection as demonstrated by previous studies, it is important and advisable that Nigerians should be careful and protect themselves from mosquito bites.
“There is no vaccine for Zika virus, and no cure other than rest, plenty of fluids and perhaps over-the-counter medication to reduce fevers, aches and pains as previously mentioned. This, therefore, means that prevention is most effective means of preventing transmission.
“I advise all Nigerians, particularly pregnant women, to avoid travelling to countries infected by this virus in these periods. If however, you are to visit any country where Zika virus is now being actively transmitted, you are advised to protect yourselves from mosquito bites.
“Pregnant women considering travel to affected areas may wish to consult their health-care provider prior to travel and after return. They should also practice personal and household steps to prevent mosquito, including putting mosquito repellant on their clothes and skin, wear long sleeves and pants, and sleep underneath mosquito nets at night, where possible.

So, you want to know thetop 10 richest musicians in Nigeria? Read on.
Let’s face it, there’s no way to accurately determine the financial worth of any individual unless he or she discloses it. This explains why you won’t get an accurate account of how much Nigerian musicians are worth.
Though you’ll find various lists all over the internet that rank Nigerian musicians in terms of their riches, get it clearly that these lists are products of estimations based on various factors such as popularity, endorsement value, show rates, sales, awards, investment, influence, social media presence, YouTube views, and so on. And this explains why there’s no agreement between them.
Here, however, we will try to strike a balance. After having looked at a number of posts listing the richest musicians in Nigeria, we came up with the list below, which highlights the top 10 richest musicians in Nigeria—in no particular order:

Comprising twin brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye, P-Square is believed by many to be the richest Nigerian musicians (there’s no strong evidence to support this, though). P-Square signed recording deals with Akon’s Konvict Music in December 2011 and Universal Music in May 2012. The Square Villa in Ikeja, owned by P-Square is said to be worth $3 million (around N500 million).

P-Square
Comprising twin brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye, P-Square is believed by many to be the richest Nigerian musicians (there’s no strong evidence to support this, though). The duo charge between 8-15 million Naira per show, and they’re signed up as ambassadors for strong Nigerian brands such as Globacom.
P-Square signed recording deals with Akon’s Konvict Music in December 2011 and Universal Music in May 2012. The Square Villa in Ikeja, owned by P-Square is said to be worth $3 million (around N500 million).

TuFace Idibia
Innocent Ujah Idibia (popularly known as TuFace Idibia) is one of Nigeria’s most popular hip-hop sensations and is regarded by many as one of Nigeria’s best instrumentalists ever. It is reported that TuFace earns between 5-7 million Naira per show.

Considering the spate of accidents on federal government roads across the country, it should have been dawn on the minister of works, Babatunde Fashola to come up with measures that can help curb and facilitate rescue operation whenever these unfortunate incidents happen on the express road.

He said this while addressing members of the diplomatic corps during a reception he organized in their honor at the state house on February 18, Thursday.
“It is worthy to note that when I assumed office on May 29th 2015, Boko Haram had full control of fourteen (14) Local Government areas in the North East, but today, the group holds no territory in Nigeria. They are hiding in Sambisa forest and occasionally undertake cowardly attacks on innocent citizens in soft targets,” the president noted.
While emphasizing that the Nigerian army have been given specific orders on rules of engagement to treat arrested insurgents humanely and to avoid civilian casualties, Buhari added that his government has witnessed resurgence in the morale and will to remove Boko Haram from their bases in the North East.

President Buhari said: “The changes in both command structure and operational tactics have brought about significant gains on the ground.”
The leader of the nation noted that people who were once internally displaced from their homes for years are slowly returning to rebuild their homes, communities and livelihood.
“As the security situation continues to improve, and as more people return to their homes, government will spare no effort to support them with robust programmes and projects to hasten the process of rehabilitation and resettlement,”Buhari continued.
“We are quite aware that the war on terror will not, and cannot be won by military means alone. We need a soft approach that speaks directly to the human mind. Poverty and hunger do not only incapacitate, but they can lead to desperation.
“We are also aware that poverty and marginalization, amongst other factors, can easily create room for indoctrination and co-option into violent extremism.
“Accordingly, we are paying attention to those economic programmes that will lead to empowerment of the people and thus provide an alternative lifestyle of fruitful engagement rather than resort to extremist and terrorist activities. Job creation and provision of quality education are key areas that are already receiving our attention.”
The president also restated his intention to leave no stone unturned in his stride to rid the country of corruption.
Emphasizing that Nigeria’s democracy is growing and gaining ground, Buhari added that there is no alternative to democracy.
“We are resolved to build a stable and prosperous Nigeria, a country that is inclusive of all her diverse peoples and a country that is at ease with itself.
“Building such a country will not be possible where corruption is pervasive. Mindful of this, it has become necessary to wage a relentless war against the cancer of corruption. So long as corruption holds center stage in the affairs of Nigeria, the country will continue to suffer incalculable harm.

“You are witnesses to the preliminary findings that have emerged in the past few weeks from our investigations into corrupt practices in different sectors of Nigeria’s Public Service.
“I will leave no stone unturned in the efforts to rid Nigeria of corruption. I must however, add that in doing this, we shall operate within the ambit of the law,” he said.
President Buhari as he vowed during the election campaign has taken steps to crackdown on Nigeria’s corrupt bureaucracy and Boko Haram’s six-year insurgency.
He recorded some success in the war against the terrorists as the country’s leader announced that the sect was technically defeated.
However, Boko Haram went on rampage, killing innocent civilians and launching fresh massacres.

Photos: Nnamdi Kanu wears Biafra attire to court
– It seems like Radio Biafra director and leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, uses his court appearances to send a message to the authorities
– Today, February 19, Kany appeared in court with a Biafra-themed attire that suggests his loyalty to the cause he is pursuing is unshaken
After spending four months in detention, Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader does not seem to be intimidated by the trial against him by the federal government of Nigeria, because of his agitation for the freedom of Biafra.

Kanu today, February 19 appeared at the Federal High Court in Abuja, with a dress that signifies he is still in tune with his agitation for Biafra.
The director of the Radio Biafra wore a sparkling white lace dress.
The dress, a simple native Nigerian wear, had in its pocket, the colours used by the Biafra agitators as a prospective colour of their flag and insignia should the freedom they so desire be granted.
A close-up shot of the logo
Also, during the trial, Kanu sat quietly in his accused dock also smiled all through the argument on an application for protection for witnesses by the DSS.
With him in court were two other accused persons Madubugwu and David Nwawusi.
The trio are facing charges of illegal possession of firearms and assisting in the management of an unlawful society.

Recall that earlier today, the Department of State Security informed the court that there is likelihood that witnesses for the trial Kanu might not testify without protection.

Jet-setting North West enjoys a Miami playdate on a tire swing with Larsa Pippen's daughter as Kim Kardashian captures the sweet moment
Their mothers are best friends.
So it's not surprising that North West and Sophia Pippen are fast
becoming BFFs just like their mums Kim Kardashian and Larsa
Pippen.
And ever the doting parent, Kim made sure to capture a sweet
moment between the two girls as they swung on a tire swing on
Thursday in Miami.
The 34-year-old reality star humorously captioned the snap: 'Sofia &
North Take Miami'.
Her one-year-old child was dressed in grey sweats and diamond
earrings as her friend sported denim shorts and a graphic T-shirt.
Kim and North recently flew into Miami from Los Angeles to attend
the Art Basel festival as father Kanye West is currently in New York.
Kim and her daughter were spotted the day before in LA wearing
designer outfits as they enjoyed a mother/daughter day out.
North, whose father is Kim's husband Kanye West, wore a pair of
studs in her ears and a denim shirt as she was carried by her
mother.
Kim, meanwhile, was casual in a white shirt, parka and sunglasses.
For a child who's still in diapers, North has amassed quite an
amazing collection of riches.
Recently Kim took the tot for a pampering session at a spa, where
she dressed North in a plush black fur cape that swamped her tiny
figure, while black leggings, black dress and black velvet loafers
with kittycat faces made up the rest of what must have been a
pricey outfit.
According to Us Weekly, the tot has over 200 pieces of designer
clothing that she's never worn.
Items in her closet include a $375 silk Oscar de la Renta dress, a
$200 leopard viscose frock from Roberto Cavalli, an Alexander
Wang leather dress, and Giuseppe Zanotti custom-made shoes.
'Kim and Kanye are grateful when designers send them some
pieces,' a source told the magazine. 'North loves clothes and getting
ready to go out. It's a lot of fun.'
North also owns some pretty fancy bling such as the half-carat
Lorraine Schwartz studs worth 'well over $50,000,' the source said.
Everywhere North goes, she's surrounded by beautiful and
expensive things.
After spending the first few months of her life at Kris Jenner's
Hidden Hills, California mansion, North moved to another lavish
abode that her famous parents recently snatched up for $20 million.
And there, North has her own walk-in closet for all her designer
clothes.
Her playroom alone would be enough to turn her friends green with
envy as it boasts 'tons of dolls,' the source told Us Weekly. 'She
loves to push them in strollers.'
Meanwhile, Kim recently revealed that she was told she would never
conceive naturally before she fell pregnant.
'A few years ago I was told I could never get pregnant,' she told Elle
UK for their Confidence Issue. 'Three different doctors told me the
same thing, which is why I wanted to have my eggs frozen.'
Kim added: 'I was just about to do that when I found out I was
pregnant with North.'
Now that she is a mother, the 34-year-old can't wait to have more
children with husband Kanye West – and soon.
And the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star said that while she is
trying and hoping to fall pregnant again naturally, she is aware she
may not be able to and will turn to other options if she struggles.
'I want a boy and another girl; I want it to start happening
straightaway,' Kim told Elle. 'I loved being part of a huge family –
and I want that for North.
'We'd do IVF if nothing happens, but we both want to keep trying
naturally.'

Nearly 50 years after the Biafran War (July 6, 1967 – January 15, 1970) which almost destroyed the unity of Nigeria, its agitators have refused to give up the struggle.
This struggle by some Igbo people to secede from Nigeria started when on May 30, 1967, late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, a military officer and politician announced a breakaway of the Eastern Region under the new name Republic of Biafra.
This subsequently sparked the Nigerian civil war also known as the Biafran war. The war was between the then Eastern Region of Nigeria and the rest of the country. The war was fought to reunify the country.
Below are some thing you should know about Biafra and the Biafran war.
1. Meaning of Biafra
Little is known about the literal meaning of the word Biafra. The word Biafra most likely derives from the subgroup Biafar or Biafada of the Tenda ethnic group who reside primarily in Guinea-Bissau. The word Biafar thus appears to have been a common word in the Portuguese language back in the 16th century. Biafra, a secessionist state in south eastern Nigeria is believed to have taken its name from the Bight of Biafra (the Atlantic bay to its south).

2. What caused the war
According to local and foreign war historians the immediate causes of the Nigeria civil war in 1966 included: a military coup (carried out by Maj. Nzeogwu which led to the death of Tafawa Belewa, etc), a counter-coup (led by Gowon, which led to the brutal murder of Aguiyi Ironsi, Fajuyi, etc) and the 1966 anti-Igbo pogrom in the north (persecution of Igbo people living in Northern Nigeria).
3. Over one million people died in the war
The war which lasted for 30 months took the lives of more than one million people. Some died in the battle while others were lost majorly through famine, and hunger. There were over 50,000 casualties of soldiers both from Biafran side and the Nigerian military.
4. The Biafran money
The Biafran money
The Biafran government created the Bank of Biafra, accomplished under “Decree No. 3 of 1967”. The bank was administered by a governor and four directors; the first governor, who signed on bank notes, was Sylvester Ugoh. They had their own currency different from that of Nigeria. The currency of Biafra had been the Nigerian pound, until the Bank of Biafra started printing out its own notes, the Biafran pound. The new currency went public on 28 January 1968. It is estimated that a total of £115–140 million Biafran pounds were in circulation by the end of the war.

5. Their national anthem
Land of the Rising Sun” was the proclaimed national anthem of the secessionist state of Biafra, in south-eastern Nigeria. The tune was adopted from Sibelius’ “Finlandia”, and written by Nnamdi Azikiwe.
6. The flag
A flag of red, black and green, horizontally, with a rising sun from the Coat of Arms (of the old Eastern Province) in gold in the centre was created by the Biafran Government and raised on May 30, 1967. The design and colours are based on the Pan-African flag designed by Marcus Garvey’s Union. The eleven rays of the sun represented the eleven provinces of Biafra.
The Biafran flag
The three Pan-African colors on the flag represent:
Red: the blood that unites all people of Black African ancestry, and shed for liberation;
Black: black people whose existence as a nation, though not a nation-state, is affirmed by the existence of the flag;
Green: the abundant natural wealth of Africa.

The modern-day states that make up Biafra from the eastern region and midwest are: Abia, Anambra, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Enugu, Ebonyi, Imo, Delta, Rivers and Cross River, Igbanke in Edo state and southern part of Benue state. Edo.
8. How they got their arms and ammunitions
The Biafrans, through many of their people abroad, mounted a very strong campaign and propaganda for the recognition of Biafra by the international community and for the purchase of arms and equipment. Biafra was recognised by countries like, Tanzania, Zambia, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Haiti and Côte d’Ivoire.
However, Britain supplied amounts of heavy weapons and ammunition to the Nigerian side because of its desire to preserve the country it created.

The Drama and Dariya of Dariye's Return
No, I do not mean that the events leading to, during, and after the emergency rule in Plateau state were a drama. I am saddened by the death of the hundreds if not thousands and am certainly heat-broken by the revelations of London Mets.
However, what I characterize as the drama here is how those who persistently called for the re-instatement of the governor never addressed the exhibited incompetence and implied complicity of the governor in the massacre that ultimately led to the declaration of state of emergency in the state. While onlookers watch, the actors acted in typical fashion of dramatic irony. But it is not on that count alone that the actors seemed really pretentious. Their evasion of the issue of the governor's guestship of the London Mets forced anyone watching the theater to chuckle and then HE's first public speech came with the final act: ""My arrest in London was arranged from here [supposedly by his detractors] and I was warned that if I travel, I would be arrested. But I want to thank God for being on our side." That was the time I had no option but to let out my desperatedariya-laughter while asking myself 'Which God is he talking about?'
